We’re live on the new site!! April 4, 2010

So, the lack of control I had over things on this blog was bugging me, and messy margins and cut-off photos was bugging me too.  I’ve moved everything over to a new location.

I’m not sure if Google has indexed me yet, so if the page doesn’t show up, just copy the address to the search bar at the very top of your screen instead of the main search bar.

I’ll only be posting there from there on, feel free to click the subscribe link so you don’t miss anything :)  Yeah, ’cause I’m just that fascinating. LOL.

Anyways, see you there!!!

These pretty, delicate little blossoms were directly overhead, and a bit of neck strain to capture, but oh, so worth it!  The different perspective is kinda nice, I think.  And, hey, that’s post #7 on my ”Blooming” theme, so tomorrow, unless I stumble upon something gorgeous and blooming, you will see something else!  Not a theme, per se, but we’re going Easter Egg hunting at the Wildlife Park, so we’ll see…

Issues with this Blog April 2, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — AspectArts @ 11:40 pm

I’m having a few technical difficulties with this blog… argh.  It seems that on smaller screens the photos are getting cut off on the right hand side.  If this is happening to you, I apologize.  I shrunk the images I was uploading, but it doesn’t seem to help.  I’m working on integrating this blog more fluidly with my main site, Aspect Arts Photography.  Please bear with me until then  :)

More Pretties | Kamloops Photographer April 2, 2010

My next theme is going to have to be a bit grungy… I have something in mind, but you’ll have to wait for it!  ;)

For now, it’s been almost a whole week of different flowers, blooming already.  Yay!!!  Today’s flower is called “Snow in Early Spring”.  Well, not really, it’s “Snow in Summer”, but with frost and snow in the hills this week it’s definitely not summer yet.  Spring, undaunted, is marching bravely forward!  Onward and Upward we go!

This photo is a bonus, not a blossom, but just a beautiful example of texture that, when I saw it, I had to capture.  “Hens & Chicks” are cool, hardy little fillers in a garden, although I think they sometimes tend to take over other things.  Still fun to take pictures of though!

Unexpected beauty is always a good thing.   This backlit branch caught my eye, the light was beautiful and just perfect.  It’s nice when perfect light just presents itself and I don’t have to go looking for it.

Magnolias | Kamloops Photographer March 31, 2010

Imagine my delight when I saw these beauties in one of Kamloops city parks!  I think Magnolias are just fascinating… I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to immortalize a blossom or two!!  Under the wire {again} tonight, so I better hurry and post!  {Look at all the blogged days in March!  Yay!}  Catch you all tomorrow!!

The texture on the first one is by Miss Cassidy Jean.

Glory of the Snow March 30, 2010

These little beauties are called “Glory of the Snow” {Chionodoxa luciliae}. In my Smithers garden they did actually bloom through the snow, but the snow has been gone for quite a while here.  Maybe after a more typical Kamloops winter… we’ll see.  Anyways, I think next spring will find some of these blooming in my front yard as well, they are so cheerful, and blue and purple are my favorite flower colors.  FAVORITE!

A different kind of bloom March 29, 2010

But a bloom none the less…  The late afternoon sun filtering through these blooming catkins totally caught my eye.  I had to get a closeup too… such gorgeous color when you get your eye right to the teeny tiny little blossoms.

Anyone up for a theme???  I am!  Time to shake things up a bit here~~ at least kinda. lol.  Kamloops is beginning to bloom……….. which is the inspiration for my first “Theme of the Week”.  {No guarantee that there will be any more of them, but you know).

This week I am endeavoring to find a different bloom of some kind every day.  EVERY day.  I’m sure it can be done.  Oh, and no more tulips! At least, not my tulips. And only if I get desperate by day 7.  And I don’t promise to be able to tell you with absolute certainty exactly what I’m photographing, only that it will be pretty. :)

For today, these may be some sort of cherry, but if anyone knows for sure, feel free to enlighten me.  This tree was bursting with new bloom… make me happy to photograph it.

Ham | Kamloops Photographer March 27, 2010

Ever seen a real live ham??  Well, here he is in person. My own personal ham.  The golden hour was in full swing today while we played at the park.  Being at the park also gave me the perfect theme idea for the next week of posts, but more on that tomorrow!  For now, enjoy today’s little ray of sunshine!  :)
